MINNEAPOLIS, MN, September 9, 2005 - Honeywell’s GyroDRM™ Gyro-Stabilized Dead Reckoning Module delivers inertially-aided dead reckoning navigation for personnel on foot when navigating in areas where GPS signals are difficult to receive.

The new GyroDRM™ is a robust personnel navigator with an error rate of only 1 to 5 meters per 100 meters. Applications like RF field mapping, public safety, military, urban mapping and forestry can benefit from this new product.

Additional features of the Gyro DRM™ include:
- 12-channel civilian GPS receiver
- Data recording capability
- No infrastructure required
- Event marker
- Barometric altimeter
- SmartPedometry™ algorithms and
- Magnetic anomaly alarm.
|
Advanced silicon gyro technology combined with Honeywell’s proven DRM®-3 provides significantly reduced effects of magnetic disturbances on position accuracy. The GyroDRM™ unit is designed to self-calibrate when GPS is available. The World Magnetic Model is built-in so that the integral magnetic compass can automatically provide azimuth referenced to true north.
