Honeywell SSEC Earns Market Engineering Award for Excellence in Customer Service Leadership

MINNEAPOLIS-July 30, 2001-The Honeywell Solid State Electronics Center (SSEC) was recently awarded Frost & Sullivan's prestigious 2001 Market Engineering Award for Customer Service Leadership in the magnetic sensors segment. Frost & Sullivan, a global marketing consulting firm, selected Honeywell SSEC for the award based on research collected from secondary and technology sources, key market participants and customer interviews, in addition to ongoing monitoring of their customer service methods.

"The Market Engineering Award is given to the company that has demonstrated industrywide excellence in Customer Service Leadership," said Daniela Carrillo, a Frost & Sullivan industry analyst. "This year's recipient, Honeywell SSEC, showed tremendous responsiveness to customer needs and a continual focus on long- and short-term customer profitability goals. Honeywell SSEC also demonstrated great flexibility in tailoring their product offerings to better suit customer businesses."

Other measurement criteria Frost & Sullivan used for determining the winner included value-added promotional support, value-added technology and services, customer responsiveness, time-to-market and customer feedback.

"We've made an effort to provide comprehensive product and design support to our customers. Using a magnetic sensor is quite different than a typical IC, and our customers appreciate our help to incorporate our specialty sensors into their designs," said Tamara Bratland, Honeywell SSEC's Product Line Manager, Magnetic Sensor Products. "This enhanced technical service and support, along with our advanced products, are the main reasons why Honeywell SSEC's magnetic product group has maintained a high customer retention rate."

Another way Honeywell SSEC provides enhanced customer service is through its user-friendly Web site-www.ssec.honeywell.com. Not only does the site provide user tutorials and extensive technical support, but it also functions as a convenient e-commerce storefront.

"Our goal is to offer customers problem-free product and service performance," said Bratland. "This could not be accomplished without an aggressive commitment to customer service. The award from Frost & Sullivan, which we are extremely honored to receive, is testament to our commitment."
