New Flexible Hand Held Display Provides Digital Readout For Honeywell's Magnetic Sensor Products

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, JUNE 29, 2000 - Honeywell today introduced the HMD5000 Hand Held Display which provides digital readout for the HMR3000 Digital Compass and the HMR2300 Smart Digital Magnetometer. The HMD5000 Display unit fits in the palm of your hand, is portable and very easy to use in the field.  The HMD5000 displays heading, pitch, roll and status information when connected to the HMR3000 Digital Compass Module.  When connected to the HMR2300 Smart Digital Magnetometer, magnetic field readings in the X, Y, and Z directions, as well as the magnitude of all three axes combined will be displayed.  The HMR3000 and HMR2300 magnetic sensor modules have application in compassing, navigation systems, attitude reference, magnetic anomaly detection, laboratory instrumentation and vehicle detection.

The Hand Held Display uses a 9-volt battery to power both the display and the Honeywell magnetic sensor module to which it is connected.  The HMD5000 is a new addition to the Magnetic Sensor Product Line that includes magnetometers and sensing components for a wide range of applications requiring high sensitivity.
Honeywell's HMD5000 Hand Held Display for magnetic sensor modules provides ease of use in the field.
All of these Honeywell products are based on magnetoresistive technology and are used to detect and measure changes in earth's magnetic field.  The HMD5000 is manufactured at the Solid State Electronics Center located in Plymouth, Minnesota.
